Makes 5 Servings

1 cup plain yogurt
¼ cup lemon juice
1 1/2 lbs tender filet of beef or lamb cut into 1inchx1 inch pieces
2 medium onion grated
3 TBS butter melted
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp saffron dissolved in ¼ cup hot water
1 tsp cinnamon

1- Mix lemon juice, seasonings yogurt, onion and butter in a bowl. Add meat making sure all pieces are covered with marinade.

2- Marinate several hours in refrigerator

3- Remove meat from marinade and thread in bamboo skewers about 4-5 pieces of meat per skewer

4- Place skewered meat in a large skillet

5- Pour remaining marinade over the meat. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 35 minutes or until tender. There should be about ½ cup of marinade remaining.

6- Serve with white rice or bread.
